On March 9, 2006, I will make 20 years at Highbridge, many people and me thought at one time that I was more likely to have 20 years incarcerated. I started as a secretary for the Caring For Family life, Prevention Program), then on to being an out reach worker for the HIV Program, followed by working as a support worker for the family life support program, finally the Growing Asset program (GAP) I am most proud of the work I am doing as a Gap worker helping family's and Community to become more self sufficient.
During the past few years as Bookkeeper in the Finance office I have learned a lot about the field of Financial management. It has inspired me to go back to school to learn more. I am looking forward to getting a degree in this field.
I'm lucky to spend my time supporting staff working with families who are focusing on being stronger, healthier and more connected to each other and with the community. As people come in burdened with worries and stress we help find and build their assets and talents - we are definitely a Life Center!
