Hello All ! Before coming to Highbridge I worked for the Department Of Juvenile Justice for 14 years. Seeing the recidivism that was occuring with the save children coming through the system made me realize that someone had to help the families in need, since DJJ was not doing so. In the 6 months that I have had the pleasure of working here I can honestly say this is the place to be if you want to help families in need.
I have been working at Highbridge Community Life Center since the summer 2006. I work for the Get and Give program with the kids from first grade thru third grade. Kids are special to be with and also to help them with any need. I also attend Bronx Community College as a full-time student my major is Media Technology.
Highbridge Community Life Center has given me the opportunity to learn, and grow in a positive environment. I am Assistant Director of Education and training. My position allows me to work with a diverse population. It is great helping them to acquire the needed skills necessary to improve their social economic environment. At Highbridge Community Life Center we build bridges over barriers.
When I first came here five years ago, I was a bit nervous because I did not even know where Highbridge was. However, working and sharing with the HCLC family has taught me so many wonderful things. I have been blessed with love and warmness from my many co-workers and clients. Highbridge is a bunch of dedicated people who help others learn, grow and love. In turn, we too learn, grow and love our clients. I truly enjoy working at this place!
