I have been a student, a volunteer and a worker at Highbridge for a span of over 13 years. I have grown in so many ways - mentally, spiritually, psychologically and - unfortunately physically too. I don't blame that last one on Highbridge.
I've been a stakeholder in Highbridge for over 18 years, living at Siena House, a shelter to help mothers and children begin to live out their dream of having a place to call home, while ministering to the street homeless. Living with and working among the homeless has been a gift not only for myself but for my Religious Community, the Blauvelt Dominicans who began the works of Highbridge Community Life Center. As Program Director of the Mobile Meals Hospitality Program I have the privilege to walk with those that are vulnerable and powerless. The program reaches out to homeless men and women, those that provide sex trades, and mentally ill persons, living on the street, by offering them meals, building trust, and assisting them in the first steps to reconnect to society or their families.
I started at Highbridge back in - (my God) - 1990. I was a VISTA volunteer. I have held many jobs since and right now I am a (SURPRISE SURPRISE) Supervisor of Receptionists. My goal is to become Executive Director by 2010 - LOOK OUT- Lisette, Sr. Ellenrita and Bro. Ed!
I have been associated with Highbridge for many years and have a deep passion for bringing educational services to the people of Highbridge. It is an honor for me to be the Director of Education.
Believe it or not I began at Highbridge 13 years ago as a volunteer. Now my title is Director of Personnel. I hold the key to the gates at Highbridge - and I'm very proud.
