At Highbridge, we are proud to offer our Certified Nurse Aide Training graduates a bridge into the field of Patient Care Technician. Our PCT course offers 17 weeks of intense training in phlebotomy, EKG and includes 4 weeks of preparation to become certified as a Patient Care Technician.

Our PCT students now have at least six months of certified nurse aide ongoing training experience when they begin class.  They are trained and certified each in phlebotomy and EKG, and are thoroughly prepared to sit for the National Exam. Our instructor has achieved a one hundred percent passing rate which is a great accomplishment that is well known throughout the community as well as in some of the other competing programs.

Our PCT course follows a similar model as our Nurse Aide Training Course in that our students are continuously offered case management, job retention and post-employment services. Our Employment Specialist is working closely with the students throughout the course preparing them for the transition from Certified Nurse Aide to Patient Care Technician.

Our facility offers hands-on training in the classroom.  The students are working on a buddy system, helping each other to gain the necessary skills to complete the course. Our state-of-the-art equipment allows the student to train with the exact equipment used in the industry.

Once our students graduate and are certified, they either receive a promotion to PCT within their current place of employment or our Employment Specialist obtains employment through our hospital partnerships mostly within the community.

The students at Highbridge have expressed great satisfaction in moving up the career ladder to achieve employment as a Patient Care Technician. With their new status, they are better able to support their families. This accomplishment affords the student an increase in salary, some of which have doubled!
