VOLUNTEER
Highbridge has numerous opportunities for volunteers to give their time, use their talents and gain valuable experience. If you don't see a position here that you would be interested in, contact Sr. Rose Ellen Gorman, at and we might be able to create one that fits your passions and skills.
Current Work Opportunities:
After-School Program Tutor
The Get and Give After-School Program is always looking for counselors to work with either 1st through 3rd graders or 4th through 8th graders from 3 to 6pm Monday through Friday. Hours are flexible, you can work one to five days a week. Volunteers would help with homework and facilitate playtime and activities.

Newspaper Reporter or Columnist
If you have any interest in writing, the Highbridge Horizon [link: www.highbridgehorizon.com] newspaper needs you. No matter your skill level, the Horizon can give you the opportunity to see your name and work in print. Writers develop excellent communication skills and contribute to the important work of community development.

Tutor
The 21st Century Program is looking for math and English tutors for high school students. Hours are flexible, you can work one to five days a week. Volunteers would help with high school level homework.

College Groups
Groups of college students seeking an alternative spring break have regularly found Highbridge to be a rewarding service opportunity. A wide variety of volunteer work is available during the day, and the excitement of Manhattan is just a train ride away at night. Low or no cost accommodations are available.
